Dementia Care
Living with dementia doesn't mean that life has to stop, just the opposite in fact. At Thrive, we take a proactive approach and look at how we can enhance quality of life now and make a plan for the future. Our Health & Wellbeing Associates can help to create a safe and comfortable environment whilst also providing tailored activities such as music therapy and reminiscence.
What is Dementia?
Doctors use the term ‘dementia’ to refer to a collection of symptoms that gradually worsen over time. Dementia is a broad term that describes a range of progressive conditions affecting the brain. It impacts memory, thinking, communication, and daily life in different ways.
There are over 200 types of dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease being the most common. Each type affects specific areas of the brain, leading to changes in a person’s ability to remember, reason, and communicate.
Dementia Care at Home
Staying at home can be incredibly beneficial for someone living with dementia, providing stability, familiarity, build confidence and support independence for as long as possible.
Being at home also makes it easier for family and friends to stay involved in day-to-day life.
Our relationship-centred approach ensures the person you love continues to live well with dementia while feeling safe, valued, and connected.

Dementia Care Focused on Creativity and Connection
At Thrive Homecare, we understand that each person’s experience of dementia is unique. That’s why our support is built around the individual — who they are, what matters to them and how they experience the world.
Our approach goes beyond meeting daily needs. We take the time to truly get to know the person you love, focusing on their wellbeing, interests and sense of purpose. A dedicated Wellbeing Specialist works alongside our diverse team — including Health & Wellbeing Associates, Admiral Nurses and dementia specialists — to provide consistent, compassionate support.
We believe meaningful relationships make all the difference. Rather than rushing through tasks, we focus on the small details that bring comfort and connection. Whether it’s reminiscing over favourite songs, enjoying a familiar routine or finding new ways to spark joy, we tailor our support to create moments of warmth and reassurance.
Dementia affects more than memory, it touches every aspect of a person’s wellbeing. That’s why we consider physical health, emotional resilience and social engagement in everything we do. Whether it’s supporting mobility, encouraging creative expression or simply sharing a quiet moment, we adapt to those changing needs with care and kindness.
